Before Signing a Contract
Tips on signing a contract to purchase:
- 1. Predetermine the amount you can borrow;
- 2. The contract needs to be subject to
finance 14 days; - 3. The contract needs to be subject to
building and pest inspection 14 days; - 4. Never terminate the contract under
the cooling off period because you
can lose .25% of the purchase price; - 5. Note that you as the purchaser are
at risk with a new property from
the date of signing a contract
to purchase. So it’s imperative to
get an insurance cover note issued
on the property you are purchasing,
effective from the date you sign the
contract. - 6. Fax the contract to
